Private Tours of the Normandy Beaches and Battlefields

ABOUT YOUR GUIDE

My name is Romain Bréget, and I am a professional battlefield tour guide in Normandy, France, specializing in D-Day tours and WWII history tours.

I grew up in Western France, where I developed a lifelong passion for military history. As a child, I often explored ruined medieval castles and WWII German bunkers along the coast, and I remember watching The Longest Day every year — sparking my fascination with the events of June 6, 1944.

I began guiding over 16 years ago, first in castles and medieval towns. I studied History, Art History, and Archaeology for several years and I became a certified tour guide in 2013.

Since moving to Normandy in 2014, I have guided thousands of visitors across the Normandy landing beaches — Omaha, Utah, Gold, Juno, Sword — sharing the stories of soldiers and civilians who shaped history. Over the years, I have expanded my knowledge by meeting WWII veterans, their families, and passionate historians. I have also guided tours in Mont-Saint-Michel, Giverny, Rouen, Honfleur, and Saint-Malo.

Today, I work as an independent Normandy battlefield guide. I was honored to contribute to the award-winning documentary Frog Fathers: Lessons from the Normandy Surf, as well as other historical projects. I have also volunteered with the Best Defense Foundation, helping to bring American WWII veterans back to Normandy for D-Day anniversaries.
One of my most meaningful experiences was participating in the recovery of a U.S. soldier previously listed as Missing in Action, who now rests at the Normandy American Cemetery.

I look forward to sharing my passion and expertise with you on a private Normandy battlefield tour, walking in the footsteps of the men who landed on D-Day, June 6th, 1944.
